Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the Academic Health Science Network North East and North Cumbria are pleased to announce

Global Connections Conference:

The North East and North Cumbria Learning from Overseas

Saturday 20th June 2015

The Great North Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 4PT

Now Open for Registration

There is no charge for this event. However, delegates are asked to make a contribution of £10 towards lunch. This can be paid on entry to the event.

Keynote speakers: Jon Barden, Conflict Humanitarian and Security Department, Department for International Development and Professor Tony Redmond, Head of the UK’s Emergency Response Team (both of whom were part of the UK government’s response team in Vanuatu and more recently, Nepal).

There are 31 known health links across the North East and Cumbria who are delivering training and support in more than 16 countries across the world.

The conference will be the first opportunity for people engaged in this work from our region to come together to share experiences and best practice. Many health links from the region will be presenting their work on the day. A confirmed conference programme will be circulated soon.

We are also interested in hearing about the work of all health links and would like to appeal for poster presentations in the standard format (A0 size) to be available for viewing and discussion during the lunch and coffee breaks. A travel voucher will be awarded to the winning poster at the end of the conference.

Registration for the conference will begin at 9am. The conference is expected to close at approximately 6pm.
